From 1879 to 1945, only specifically admitted lawyers were allowed to act before the Supreme Court of the German Reich. They were admitted at the discretion of the presiding committee of the Supreme Court of the German Reich. To this end, an opinion by the president of the responsible higher regional court and the chairman of the responsible bar association was obtained, and the Bar Association of the Supreme Court of the German Reich was heard. The number of lawyers at the Supreme Court of the German Reich was not restricted, but there were only between 20 and 28 admitted lawyers at any given time.
